Our latest achievement in sustainable business for LDL Group

We, LDL Group (distributor of industrial washing machines, dryers, ironing, and finishing equipment), are proud to announce that we have once again earned the VOKA Sustainability Charter. This charter acknowledges the ongoing efforts of our company and our employees to reduce our ecological footprint and engage in socially responsible business practices.

"We are very pleased to achieve this important certificate for the second consecutive year," says Johan Stuyven, CEO of LDL Group. "Sustainability is a core value of our company, and we are committed to continuously optimizing our processes and reducing our environmental impact."

The VOKA Sustainability Charter represents a commitment that companies make to take concrete actions in areas such as energy, mobility, waste management, and social engagement.

Some concrete achievements of LDL Group in the area of sustainability:

  • Reduction of energy consumption: LDL Group has significantly invested in energy-saving measures such as LED lighting, insulation of existing buildings (both roof and facade insulation), and water recovery.
  • Waste management and circularity: LDL Group aims for the highest possible recycling rate of its waste streams and regularly conducts awareness campaigns among employees.
  • Meet & Wash: The Meet & Wash concept contributes to reducing E-waste (further described below).
  • Social commitment: LDL Group supports various local organizations and projects investing in our employees: LDL Group offers opportunities for employees to participate in various training programs aimed at developing their talents.

"We are convinced that sustainable business practices are not only beneficial for the environment but also for our economy and our employees," says Johan Stuyven. "Therefore, we hope that more and more companies will follow our example."

The concept Meet & Wash of LDL Group

E-waste is a growing problem, it is the fastest growing waste stream worldwide. With the Meet&Wash concept (www.meetandwash.eu), LDL Group can contribute to reducing the E-waste from household washing machines and dryers. By using professional appliances in collective laundry facilities, individual household appliances are not purchased, thereby reducing E-waste production. These appliances have a longer lifespan and are equipped with smart technologies and efficient (eco) programs; for example, detergent can be automatically adjusted according to the load of the appliance.

In addition to the Meet&Wash concept, professional appliances are also offered through rental schemes or can be purchased from us. Any washing, drying, or ironing appliance that is taken out of service is reclaimed by LDL Group and processed sustainably.
Programs have been developed for refurbishing old machines so they can be reintroduced to the market (second life); functional parts from old appliances are reused. LDL Group also collaborates with a recycling company to ensure materials are recycled properly.
